Live Nba Scores - Spurs Hand Celtics Another Loss

Saturday, February 7th, 2009
Peri Witny asked:

Boston faced a well rested San Antonio Spurs at their homecourt, Banknorth Garden but were defeated by the oldest team in the NBA with a 105-99 basketball result. The Spurs scored 11 points in the last 40 seconds to win the game.

Roger Mason made a three pont field goal with 20.4 seconds remaining to give San Antonio the upperhand. Manu Ginobili then hit four free throws before Mason added a pair as the Spurs increased their distance from Boston. It was the Spurs’ ninth win in 11 games.

Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Seldom used Matt Bonner scored his second most output in scoring with 23 and went 3 of 6 from the three point area. Ginobili tallied 19 points as he came off the bench.

Kevin Garnett had 26 points and 12 rebounds while Paul Pierce had 19 points and eight rebounds. Ray Allen added 18 points while Rajon Rondo passed the ball around to tally 16 assists. With this loss, the Celtics have allowed their opponents to score 100 points or more in three straight games and in six of their last eight. It does mean that their opponents have increased their scoring averages to 99.1 for the last eight games and have improved their field goal shooting as well to 44.7. Boston coach Doc Rivers has to find away to bring back their tenacity in defense. The Celtics will then start a six game road trip in between the All Star weekend before heading back to Boston.

Spurs coach Greg Popovich rested his key starters when his team played the Denver Nuggets. Ginobili sat out that game with a bruised hip. Duncan, Michael Finley and Tony Parker were also rested as the team are into their eight game, three week road trip. So far they have posted a 2-1 record.

Duncan had the ball and made a basket and was fouled. He made the extra free throw and pushed the Spurs to a 90-87 lead. Ray Allen sank a field goal to cut the lead to one. Garnett hit consecutive jumpers during the Celtics’ ball possession for a 93-90 lead at 1;36 at the clock. Bonner then hit a jumper from the free throw line while Garnett missed his attempt. Mason then made his three pointer that restored the upperhand to the Spurs at 95-93. Boston turned the ball over during an inbounds play with Ginobili stealing the ball and fished a clear-path foul which resulted in two free throws and ball possession back to the Spurs. They extended the lead to 101-93 but Eddie House and Garnett refused to go down and made consecutive three point jumpers to reduce the lead to two. It became a free throw shooting time for the Spurs as the team sank four charities for the final scores.

2008 Nba-olympics Basketball!

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009
Jamaal Al-Din asked:

Congratulations to those players seleted for the United States Men’s Olympic Basketball Team from Coach Jamaal of Boise’s Jamaal Al-Din’s Hoops 227- the everything basketball website!!! This year the Olympic Summer Games are being held in Beijing, China…the home of “chow Mein,” lo Mein, ans Coach J’s favorite- szchezwaun beef!!! The USA Basketball Executive Committee is responsible for the selection process and let’s just say it’s great to select from the NBA who plays host to the most extraordinary basketball talent in the world!!!

Mike Krzyzewski of the storied Duke University NCAA basketball program in Durham, North Carolina (ACC), is the Head Basketball Coach of the United States Olympic Basketball Senior Team. Nate McMillan, Mike D’Antoni and Jim Boeheim of the Portland Trailblazers, New York Knicks and Syracuse Univerity, respectively, are USA the Olympic Basketball Assistant Coaches for the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing, China.

Team members include these National Basketball Association stars!

Carmelo Anthony- Denver Nuggets; the explosive Carmelo Anthony is a versatile NBA talent from Baltimore, Maryland and Syracuse University. With an NCAA basketball championship he’s now paired up with Allen Iverson (”The Answer”) in Denver with hope of bringing a title to the Mile High City!

Chris Bosh- Toronto Raptors; Chris Bosh is a phenomenal leaper with unparalleled basketball skills in the paint. Chris Bosh’s athleticism makes for exciting NBA dunks and “rim shakers!” NBA basketball at its finest and will be fireworks to see him paired up, on the basketball hardwood, with the likes of Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers) and LeBron (”King”) James (Cleveland Cavaliers)!

Michael Redd- Milwaukee Bucks; Michael Redd’s terrific long range game is TOPPS in the NBA and during Olympic play it will be enteresting to see him play bombs away against international basketball teams. Michael Redd played collegiately at Ohio State University.

Deron Williams- Utah Jazz; Deron Williams has both a strong basketball inside game and outside jumper. Slashes his way through opponents with *********** similar to a vibrant “Rookie” basketball version of Gary Payton (The Glove- from Oregon State University). Deron Williams played collegiately at the University of Illinois (Big 10/NCAA)

Chris Paul- New Orleans Hornets; Chris Paul had arguably the best season of all National Basketball Association (NBA) players and and some basketball fans, writers and critics, feel as though he should have won the NBA’s MVP award. Chris Paul is a versatile Point Guard with a knack for penetrating the lane and creating havok for defenders, as big men in the middle have to converge, leaving wide open jump shots for Chris Paul’s (CP’s) teammates in New Orleans. The New Orleans Hornets are having an exciting time with NBA basketball and Olympic basketball fans will be watching one of the best point guards in the modern NBA! Chris Paul played for the Wake Forrest Demon Deacons of the NCAA’s Atlantic Coast Conference (notable ACC basketball programs: Duke University, University of Maryland, North Carolina State University, Florida State University and University of North Carolina).

Tayshaun Prince- (Coach Jamaal’s)! Detroit Pistons; Tayshaun Prince is a wirey, smooth shooting guard with great touch. Coach Jamaal Al-Din of Jamaal Al-Din’s Hoops 227 grew up as a Detroit Pistons fan, watching Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Bill Laimbeer, John Salley, Mark Aguire and Dennis Rodman. It will be basketball heaven to watch Tayshaun Prince teamed up with guards like Chris Paul (Wake Forest Deamon Deacons/ New Orleans Hornets) and Deron Williams (University of Illinois “Fighting” Illini/ Utah Jazz). Tayshaun Prince played NCAA basketball at the University of Kentucky (”Wildcats”) for Coach Tubby Smith.

Dwight Howard- Orlando Magic; an extraordinary physical basketball talent who is quickly making his mark on the entire National Basketball Association (NBA). Dwight Howard (see 227’s You Tube- Dwight Howard), is a physical inside player who rebounds and scores with the best basketball centers and forwards in the NBA. Look for Howard to control the paint like SHAQ (Phoenix Suns) and dominate Olympic play. Noted for his famous U Tube (YouTube, you tube, utube) “Superman” dunk, Dwight Howard came into the NBA right after high-school, like his NBA counter-part…Kobe Bryant (of the 81 point performance, which can be seen on YouTube)!

Dwayne Wade- Miami Heat; D-Wade of the marketing NBA creatives, is a slashy, creative, shooting guard witha championship ring to go with the exceptional performance he put on during the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. Dwayne Wade’s game is versatile and should flourish during Olympic style basketball play. Dwayne Wade played collegiately at Marquette University (NCAA).

Kobe Bryant- Los Angeles Lakers; Kobe Bryant… well, Kobe Bryant, need I say more. An 81 point scoring outburst and a phenominal 2007-08 season with the Los Angeles Lakers which culminated in a Western Conference Championship. Kobe will be a special basketball treat for all Olympic basketball fans. Kobe entered the NBA right out of high-school, similiar to the legendary Moses Malone (”4, 4, 4″) and Darryl Dawkins “Chocolate Thunder!”  Kobe is a product of Philly.

LeBron James- Cleveland Cavaliers; the most electrifying dunker of modern NBA basketball  and arguably all-time. LeBron’s strong game of dunk-you-very-much and power has took the National Basketball Association by storm! LeBron is only a blink away from establishing himself as the epitome of NBA shooting guards with strength and power to go along with his basketball intelligence which is unmatched! LeBron James came into the NBA, right after high-school and was regarded highly as everyone’s McDonald’s Basketball All-American, from Ohio.

Carlos Boozer- Utah Jazz; the former Duke University Blue Devil is a fierce inside presence and has a soft touch, he’ll be an asset teamming up with Deron Williams, as they’re teammates with the Western Conference Utah Jazz in the NBA.

Some of the basketball members of the United States Men’s Basketball (USA) Team have had experience with FIBA Basketball, and the World Championships. Stay tuned and watch the best of the best USA basketball talent during the Olympics in Beijing, China. Coach Jamaal Al-Din of Jamaal Al-Din’s Hoops 227 says “Good Luck, red, white and blue!” Jamaal Al-Din is a former player of Olympic scoring record setter, Ed Palubinskas, who played at BYU-Idaho (formerly Ricks College) and LSU. Coach Palubinskas is a member of the Australia Basketball Hall of Fame. Jamaal Al-Din’s Hoops 227- the everything basketball website!

The LA Clippers Continue to Sail Further in the Postseason

Monday, February 2nd, 2009
Rick Grantham asked:

In cities with two professional sports teams, why does one team get more love than the other one does? In New York, it is the Giants over the Jets and the Yankees over the Mets. In Chicago, it is the Cubs over the White Sox. Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, the Lakers tend to get more attention than the Clippers do. While historic success in the playoffs is certainly one factor, oftentimes one team in a city is significantly younger than the other one. By the time the Clippers played their first NBA game in October of 1984, their LA counterparts, the Lakers, had already won three NBA Championships.

How did the Clippers get their name? The city held a “name the team” contest, in which locals submitted 14,000 entries. The name “Clippers” refers to Los Angeles’ function as a harbor containing Clipper ships. While Clippers are simply fast sailing ships, the name also refers to the Star of India, a famous windjammer ship docked in San Diego and which had inspired the team’s name.

The Clippers had a rough start in the NBA. They had traded three rising stars for three aging veterans, and inherited the Los Angeles Sports Arena, from the Lakers. Even replacing their coach did not jumpstart the Clippers. They finished their premiere NBA season with a 31-51 record, or .378 winning percentage.

Although the Clippers have never been NBA Division Champions or earned spots in the NBA Conference Finals or Finals, they have appeared in the playoffs four times. They first made the playoffs during the 1991-1992 season. Basketball Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown led the Clippers to a 45-37 record. Though they lost in the first round to the Utah Jazz (3-2), they had definitely set sail towards playoff success.

During the following season, the Clippers made the playoffs again, though they had earned a meager 41-41 record. Again, the Clippers lost in the first round. This time it was to the Houston Rockets. They came within striking distance in Game 5, but ultimately lost it 84-80, in Houston.

Four years later, the Clippers qualified for the playoffs again. This time, they crept into post-season play, though they had earned a record of 34-48 (.414 winning percentage). However, the Clippers faced the powerhouse Utah Jazz, losing in three consecutive games.

One decade later, the Clippers had another solid season during their 2005-2006 campaign. They earned a regular season record of 47-35. However, this time, the result in their first playoff series was more favorable. The Clippers got the job done on both offense and defense, defeating the Denver Nuggets (4-1). During the next round, the Clippers would face the run-and-gun Phoenix Suns. Though the Clippers were huge underdogs, they played the Suns closely. However, they ultimately lost the series 4-3.

Though they are a young team, the LA Clippers have begun to achieve some playoff success. They hope to go deeper into the playoffs. Cheer them on with LA Clippers Merchandise, as they continue sailing towards their first NBA Championship!

An Independent Sports Betting Champ Review

Sunday, February 1st, 2009
Tim Cryper asked:

So it’s my task to write the review for Sports Betting Champ so you can read it and i can convince you to go and buy the product right? Wrong!!

I’m not going to convince you to do anything, i will simply provide facts to you, and let you make the decision from there! After all, how do you think i found Sports Betting champ? I was hesitant to hand over my hard earned cash for a system that i was just HOPING would work. Let me tell you that im glad i did :)

So there i was, flicking through the paper looking at last nights results for the Lakers V Hornets Basketball game when i realised that i could be making money on these games! I got on the internet, went to the sports betting webpage and placed a bet of $50 on the Nuggets to beat the Bulls…. The Bulls won.

This continued 7 more times, each time i put $50 on because i thought i couldn’t loose. How wrong i was. Down $400 you can imagine how good i felt, so i gave up betting on sports as i thought there was no way i could win, it was rigged.

However, 19 days later my friend Andrew told me about Sports Betting Champ and how he had won quite a substantial amount of money from using their system. Obviously i didn’t believe him until he showed me statements of his bank account from the previous 4 months. My eyes nearly popped out of my head!! He was earning more from sports betting than i was earning in my full paying job!!

So, naturally i wondered on over to the Sports Betting Champ website, and after a few emails back and forth with John Morrison, i purchased the system from him. I even got it at 50% off as he is running a promotional offer at the moment!

Using the Sports Betting Champ system, i was able to place bets with much more confidence, and was even able to use John Morrisons bets that i get emailed each and every week… without any on-going fees, Its a win-win situation, literally!

So after just over 2 months of using the Sports Betting Champ system, i can honestly say that it has worked for me, and i no longer need to rely on my full time job for an income. Obviously with both combined i have a very healthy lifestyle, able to do whatever i want, whenever i like.

If your looking to make some money, and have even the slightest interest in Sports Betting, i suggest that you try this product, but, don’t take my word for it, head over to the official Sports betting Champ website for even more knowledge and information.

To read more information on the product, or to get another Sports Betting Champ Review , or even ask the author any questions, why not head on over to the official Sports Betting Champ website.
